Apple iOs 10.2.1: Some Problems of Apple
Apple iOs 10.2.1: Some Problems of Apple
Just days after its release, the Apple iOS 10.2.1 update is problematic. Although it does contain an essential security fix, it does not know the 30% bug. It now seems to be also the cause of new problems and not least for owners of iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch ...
1-Touch ID
The problem seems to affect mostly the owners of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, and options like deleting and adding fingerprints no longer work. It is interesting to note that the return to iOS 10.2 solves the problem, identifying iOS 10.2.1 as the main cause of it.
2-Brightness
Another problem that affects users frustrated by iOS 10.2.1 is the automatic change in the brightness of the iPhone screen, depending on the level of the battery.
Interestingly, it seems that Apple did this voluntarily, as several users have mentioned. But why would Apple do that? It might be a "bizarre" attempt to fix the 30% bug on older iPhone models (the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus being spared) while retaining the battery, But from the general view of users, it would be a "ridiculous" approach.
However, there is a workaround for affected users: manual control. As explained in an Apple forum: "When the brightness of the screen decreases, the only way to regain normal brightness and go to: Settings> Display and Brightness and select the Zoom option, l Label at Zoom, then return to normal brightness. In this way, the brightness remains "fixed" until the battery reaches one of the predefined battery percentages for these changes ".
If it is indeed an intentional change of Apple (and if this is the case, it was not specified at the end of 10.2.1), we must expect a strong reaction from Users to remove it.
3-Bluetooth
The Bluetooth function has long been a bug generator on Apple devices. IOS 8 was already a vector of a number of problems and now it seems that they are back under iOS 10.2.1.
Problems include both loss of connectivity and excessive battery reduction when the Bluetooth function is activated. Again, users have tried the usual tricks, including resetting Bluetooth connections, detaching peripherals and resetting the factory settings, but none of these solutions seems to work.
Other bugs
The list above represents the biggest bugs - already enough enough for a single update - but others deserve to be underlined. They are included in this list as minor problems because very little reported by users of the brand to the apple:
Battery - With almost all iOS updates, users complain about the excessive decrease in battery, but iOS 10.2.1, particularly, has generated many complaints about the increased energy consumption of the devices.
Sound Performance - Many people have testified to the degradation of audio performance in PhoneGap and Unity.
WiFi - Several users and especially in forums have reported a decreased WiFi performance under iOS 10.2.1
.
Should you still install iOS 10.2.1?
Given the significant security patches in iOS 10.2.1, the answer would tend to be yes. However, a warning would be needed for the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus, since their users seem disproportionately affected by the TouchID and the problems of screen brightness.
For now, the correction of the bug of 30% is still waiting. Apple users have a growing need that the brand fixes already existing bugs rather than introducing new ones with each update ...
